About CSR Chinmaya Vidyalaya

An institution dedicated to nurturing young minds through the timeless wisdom of Vedanta combined with contemporary education.

Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayanandaji

Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda (1916-1993) was a spiritual giant who revolutionized the understanding and teaching of Vedanta. Born as Balakrishna Menon in Kerala, he transformed from a freedom fighter and journalist into one of the most influential spiritual teachers of modern times.

Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda was a sage, philosopher, thinker, writer and disciplinarian, all rolled into one. He believed that all education is fruitless, and mere labour, if it does not inculcate noble virtues in students. As he envisaged it, education was not only a load of information, but also the light of transformation. He envisioned that the reason for the dissonance among people around the world, was the absence of a manual for living. He believed that Vedanta, the universal science of life, was the spiritual birthright of every human being, and that its earnest study would result in tremendous growth and evolution.

He wished to build an institution, not an institute; a veritable movement that nourished souls, creating new generations of men and women of high integrity and great moral stature. Gurudev’s vision, enshrined in the Chinmaya Vision Programme, is the foundation on which the Chinmaya Educational Institutions stand tall today, nourishing the global Chinmaya family and the society at large. With more than 10,000 students children enrolling each year, and more than a million having graduated, the Chinmaya Education Movement has come a long way since inception. Many lamps have been lit, many hearts have been kindled…

Pujya Guruji Swami Tejomayananda

"An altar in our life will alter our life"

Pujya Guruji Swami Tejomayanandaji

Swami Tejomayananda is the former Head of Chinmaya Mission Worldwide, a position he held since 1993 after Swami Chinmayananda attained Mahasamadhi. If Swami Chinmayananda served the cause of Vedanta with his service, knowledge and pioneering qualities, Swami Tejomayananda – fondly addressed as Guruji – completed that with his natural attitude of devotion. This is richly and abundantly evident in his talks, his singing, and his demeanour. But the gentleness of devotion arrived riding on the back of an intense education in physics, going up to a Master’s degree. Born, Sudhakar Kaitwade to a Maharashtrian family in Madhya Pradesh, this physicist had a close encounter that changed the velocity, direction and path of his life.

His emphasis on value-based education, character development, and the integration of spiritual principles in daily life continues to guide our educational philosophy at Chinmaya Mission School, Guntur.

Pujya Mukhyaji Swami Swaroopanandaji

In an era rife with scepticism and confusion about matters spiritual, Swami Swaroopananda is a rare voice that blends authenticity with accessibility; theory with self- practice; logic with heart. Formerly the Regional Head of Chinmaya Mission Australia, United Kingdom, Middle East, Africa and Far East, and presently Chairman of the Chinmaya Vishwavidyapeeth Trust (University for Sanskrit and Indic Traditions) and Director of the Chinmaya International Residential School in Coimbatore, South India, Swami Swaroopananda has now been bestowed by Swami Tejomayananda the privilege to also serve as the Head of Chinmaya Mission Worldwide.
